Where is my transfer?
It is the question every buyer and seller asks. These are the stages every property transfer in South Africa goes through, so you always know which one you are in.
- Offer signedThe buyer and seller sign the offer to purchase. The transfer is handed to the conveyancer.
- Documents and FICAYou sign the transfer documents and bring your ID and proof of address.
- ClearancesRates clearance from Moqhaka Local Municipality and the transfer duty receipt from SARS.
- LodgedThe deeds are lodged at the Deeds Office in Bloemfontein.
- RegisteredThe property is registered in the buyer's name. The transfer is done.
A transfer often takes two to three months from the signed offer, longer if a bond or a clearance is delayed.
